Is your website incapable of generating a good amount of sales? Does the sales result fall short of your expectations? If your answer to both of these questions is yes, then there must be something wrong somewhere. One flaw might be on the design of your website.
If you want to build up your website, then here are some flaws that you need to take note of. Correcting them now can do wonders to your website and can keep the income coming.
1. Avoid putting a lot of technical clutter in your website. Visitors of your website might miss the sales message you are trying to relay to them.
2. Avoid using words and phrases that are not necessary in your website. As much as possible, use as little words as possible and make each one count. Your visitors do not have a lot of time in their hands. Use words that can grab their attention.
3. Quit thinking that every person who visits your website will completely understand your site’s message. Use accurate descriptions and state some examples for people to understand your message well.
4. To avoid visitors from missing your point, mention your strongest message, point and benefit at least thrice. Do not settle on mentioning it only once.
5. Since people tend to skin through the website’s contents, avoid pushing all your words in a single paragraph or putting them all together. Be creative by using lots of headings plus multiple sub headings to make your message clearly visible.
6. Never use contents that your target visitors are not interested in. Focus on your site’s relevance. If your visitors are looking for information about fitness, do not include topics such as sewing.
7. Avoid using various formats in your website. As much as possible, utilize the same text size, colours and shades and fonts to avoid your site from looking cluttered and all jumbled up. Using different formats will make your visitors miss the whole point of your site.
8. Never use words that your visitors may not be familiar with. Nobody has enough time to search in a dictionary or research in other sites. Use words that can easily be understood.
9. Make sure that your site’s selling phrases are easily noticeable. As much as possible, keep them highlighted. Emphasize relevant words or phrases using bold letters, italics, underlines or colours.
10. Make use of words that are capable of generating emotions. You can get people’s attention by recognizing and understanding issues that involve their emotional state.
